After moving back to Denver CO in 2015 Corey Rezner released his most recent album, Mercy Mercy, prodcued by Anthony Crawford (Neil Young, Steve Winwood, Dwight Yoakum) Corey Rezner has found himself immersed in the Denver music scene playing nearly every night of the week and booking bands and venues in Colorado.
Corey Rezner was born in the small picturesque town of Fairhope, Alabama although he has called North Carolina, Louisiana, Florida, and Colorado his home as well amidst his young life. Cultivating his music through his travel throughout the United States, Corey has carved out a niche for himself that is well grounded in Americana roots. With his love for the transcendental lifestyle that the Gulf Coast brings, he was drawn back to his beginnings to record his debut album, titled Mercy Mercy, with legendary Producer/Engineer Anthony Crawford at Admiral Bean Studio in Loxley, Alabama.
Coming from an artistic background, (his brother John, a Potter and his sister Patti, a Painter) it is no wonder Corey eventually dived into his own creative outlet, music. From an early age he took an interest in instruments like saxophone, guitar, drums, and piano, all self taught, but it wasn’t until his late teens did he decide to try making a career out of his passion. It didn’t take long to realize that it was a very wise decision. Performing over a thousand shows over the last decade in twelve states, Corey has fine tuned his sound and it shows on his debut release, Mercy Mercy, released in September 2015. This comes to no surprise to indie label, Baldwin County Public Records, who recently signed Corey as one of it’s first artists.
Mercy, Mercy is a nine song adventure that is meant to be listened to gracefully, like sipping a fine wine. It’s mellow vibe will take you on a journey of your life. It reaches the depths of childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood capturing those moments that define you.
